As a designer, I had the incredible opportunity to dive deep into the history and legacy of one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. My role was to create concept visuals for The Distillery's Visitor Center that would perfectly capture the essence of the brand, from the grand entrance to the immersive exhibition displays and VIP tasting room.

 

The journey from start to finish was meticulously considered to create a sensory experience that fully immerses visitors in the world of whiskey production in Scotland. I proposed a range of low and high-tech mediums, including stunning projections, tactile experiences, and the flavours of rich whiskey.

 

To captivate visitors, my focus centred on visually striking displays that artfully showcased the distillery's unique setting, character, and traditional production methods. I also integrated sensory elements, such as the alluring aroma of whiskey, the echo of ageing barrels and the tactile sensation of walking through the distillery, infusing the experience with depth and authentic touch. Finally, I designed a VIP tasting room where visitors could savour an array of whiskey varieties while delving into their fascinating histories.

 

Collaborating closely with senior designers, I incorporated copper, wood, and galvanized steel throughout the interiors and displays while maintaining the traditional appeal of The Distillery with a few modern touches. The end result was a space that elegantly blended old-world charm with contemporary design providing visitors with an immersive and unforgettable journey.

 

Throughout the project, I was given a lot of freedom to explore various creative directions and bring my own unique perspective to the task. It was an exhilarating experience to be able to create something truly special and immersive that captures the essence of this iconic Scottish distillery.
